Dear 2020,
I began you with a resolution to deepen my connection with God. Yet you did more than that.
You gave me courage, in the middle of a pandemic, to quit my job, one that was slowly sucking the life out of my spirit and my soul.
You gifted me with peace as I traversed the days wondering what the hell my future was going to be. But in my quest, you helped me discover that I needed to walk the path where I can continue to encourage and inspire others.
You gave me December to rest, reflect, read and just be still so I would have the energy, in January, to apply for jobs where my passion and purpose can live in harmony.
More importantly, you led me to a church, moments of silence in the morning to soak up God’s word and a deepened faith in the One who I owe every thing to.
Thank you 2020. For in the midst of chaos and grief and death and sickness and violence, you still managed to shine a light of hope.
And for that, I am most grateful.
