Dear 2020 you sneaky little B,

I totally get the message you are trying to get across. Speak up even when your voice shakes, stop comparing yourself to others, don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t take your health and privilege for granted. You have made that abundantly clear.

But through all the pain and eye opening experiences you have caused, I gotta say, I still appreciate you. You made me realize that I ALWAYS need to stick up for human rights and others. You made me realize that I have so much to be grateful for. You made me realize that I am lucky to have the family I have. You made me realize who my real friends are. You made me realize that health and life can be taken away from you in a second so don’t take it for granted. And you reminded me week over week that a positive outlook can make a huge difference in my overall mental health and those around me.

So thanks for the year! But at the same time, I am SO ready to say bye to you too! : )
